The Beginning - Handcrafted Soaps

Batch #3
This was my first attempt at a swirl. I used Paprika to get the color. Before cutting, this soap log had the image of the Starship Enterprise!
Batches #5 & 6
This is a pure Sesame Seed Oil soap for a swap to find out about some of the properties of single oils. The other (not pictured) was olive oil. In this picture, the soap still has a cap of 'ash.' I forgot to cover it. To minimize the formation of ash, the new soap should be covered the first 24 to 48 hours.
Batch #7 with Cheese Cutter
Coconut Cream, Oatmeal, Beeswax. The batch really did appear green before it aged! So the color you see is not part of the poor photo quality. I found this awesome adjustable cheese cutter at Walmart that is perfect for cutting soap logs made using the Martha Stewart Utensil Tray (a.k.a. Martha mold.)
This wonderful lather came from the soap in the preceding picture. I tested some of the scraps after some discussion with friends at the Soaper's Asylum. This soap has LOTS of creamy lather!
Batch #9
"Safe for Baby" This is a 'bar' from my unscented baby soap line. Okay, so this guy isn't the cutest brick from the mold but in this guise, he'll rub off on you! I used a Jell-O Jigglers mold for the excess from the batch. He is Ivan Ooze from the Power Rangers!
Batch #10
Cocoa, Orange, & Plain with Oriental Musk FO. These bars were from my first attempt at a triple swirl. This batch is also my first totally yuck batch! I measured the fragrance, forgot how much, measured some more! It's so strong you want to choke on the fumes! I'll use these bars as chunks and curls in other batches.
